YAMAHA XSR 700 [2016-2021] - Z-ring chain with HPE and rivet closure

The Regina Z-Ring chain with High Performance Endurance (HPE) technology is a groundbreaking innovation in the field of motorcycle chains. This particular chain does not require regular relubrication, which would normally be required every 1,000 km. This represents a significant improvement for motorcyclists who value low maintenance and durability.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least equal to, if not longer than, that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Another outstanding feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings in the field of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) technologies. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and leads to a reduction in energy losses and increased efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction leads to optimized performance. Additionally, the elimination of chain cleaning and lubricant splash during operation minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
