KAWASAKI Z 900 RS SE [2017-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. Thanks to its innovative technology, this sophisticated chain does not require regular relubrication, which would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This not only saves time but also maintenance costs.

Extensive testing in the laboratory and on the road has proven that the durability of the HPE chain is at least as high, if not higher, than that of a conventionally lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating made of tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction leads to improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant splash during operation minimizes environmental impact. This technological innovation was made possible by the intensive research and development work of Regina engineers in Italy.
