HONDA XRV 750 AFRICA TWIN [1990-2003] - Z-ring chain with HPE

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring chain sets new standards in motorcycle technology. This high-performance chain does not require regular relubrication, which makes it particularly low-maintenance. Motorcyclists no longer have to lubricate the chain every 1,000 km, which not only saves time but also reduces maintenance costs.

Extensive laboratory and road tests have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Another highlight is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, the elimination of chain cleaning and lubricant splash during operation minimizes environmental impact. This innovative ta-C coating technology was developed through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
