BMW F 750 GS [2018-2021] - Z-ring chain with HPE

The Regina Z-Ring chain with High Performance Endurance (HPE) technology represents a significant innovation in the field of motorcycle chains. This chain does not require regular relubrication, which makes it particularly low-maintenance. The need for lubrication every 1,000 km is eliminated, which significantly reduces the effort for motorcyclists.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least equal to, if not longer than, that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and ensures a reduction in energy losses and an increase in efficiency in secondary transmission.

The combination of extremely high hardness of the coated surface and a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, the elimination of chain cleaning and lubricant splash during operation minimizes environmental impact. The innovative ta-C coating technology was developed through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
