The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. Extensive testing in laboratories and on the road has proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Another highlight is the coating made of tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings in the DLC group (Diamond Like Carbon). This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance and efficiency. Eliminating the need to clean the chain and use lubricants also minimizes environmental impact. These technological advances were made possible by intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
