The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. This state-of-the-art chain no longer requires regular lubrication, which was previously required every 1,000 km. This represents a significant improvement for drivers, who now have to perform less maintenance and can rely on the reliability of their chain for longer.

Extensive testing both in the laboratory and on the road has proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a traditional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A decisive factor for this is the coating made of tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The exceptional hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and preventing lubricant splashes during operation minimizes environmental impact. This innovative ta-C coating technology was developed through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
