KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE [2015-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. Thanks to its revolutionary technology, this advanced chain no longer requires regular relubrication, which was previously required every 1,000 km. This not only offers motorcyclists a significant increase in comfort, but also a significant time saving.

Extensive testing in the laboratory and on the road has proven that the durability of the HPE chain is at least as high, if not higher, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. An essential part of this high performance is the coating made of tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The combination of extremely high hardness of the coated surface and a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant spraying during operation minimizes environmental impact. The innovative ta-C coating technology was developed through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
