DUCATI 1200 DIAVEL CROMO [2011-2020] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in motorcycle technology. This chain features innovative Z-ring technology that eliminates the need for regular lubrication that would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This results in significant time and cost savings for the driver.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventionally lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating with tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings in the DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) group. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and provides high hardness while maintaining a low coefficient of friction.

The ta-C coating reduces energy losses and increases the efficiency of the secondary drive. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant spraying during operation minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
